SPEECH 111

Sunday, February 05, 2006

Tonight, after about ten takes, I finally completed my Speech of Self-Introduction. The sound on this recording didn't seem to be as much of an issue. I think that by standing a little closer to the camera and concentrating more on my enunciation, I have at least improved the quality of audio. I thought this speech would be a relatively easy assignment since it was basically just me talking about me...but now I realize that all speech is challenging! I couldn't believe how many things about myself I could possible forget within a 3 minute presentation! But I got through it relatively smoothly. I created a slide show to go with it but when I tried recording myself giving the speech in front on the computer, it seemed really cheesey so I am thinking I should just send this visual in along with my oral presentation.

I had trouble with the recording of this speech, also. First I had the camera zoomed in to close, then when I started, I said my name and mixed up the letters that represent my status as a paramedic. You would think I had never said them before. Like you said, who can forget so much about yourself in 3 minutes.
